Video and poetry on othering, identity and belonging
‘THE OTHERS’ is a collaborative video and poetry project exploring the concept of othering — the process of identifying and excluding those who do not fit established societal norms. Working with individuals whose psychological or physical characteristics are perceived as forms of social “unsuitability”, the project transforms these external and internal experiences into deliberately constructed artistic alien identities. Through video, poetry and AI-generated voice-overs, OTHER explores identity, alienation and belonging while questioning traditional ideas of normality and difference. Created as part of the Collaborative Art Practice course at the University of Nicosia.
